Nuestra Señora de Santa Monica, Santa Monica, CA
One of the most popular places tourists head to next after Hollywood is Santa Monica. This makes sense as there is no shortage of things to do all jam packed into a few blocks. Shopping for every budget, miles of beaches, amusement park rides, the list goes on.
If you are under the impression that Santa Monica is only the place that I described above, you have a lot to learn about Santa Monica. It is much larger than you realize with these isolated pod neighborhoods mixed in with residential areas that can be little towns to themselves. Often times when I look up restaurants on yelp to get directions I am surprised how much Santa Monica there really is.
Santa Monica encompasses three miles of shoreline and a town that stretches from the very end of the pier and splays its arms out, hugs San Vicente Boulevard and Dewey Street reaches from Ocean Avenue to 26th street.
What I will show you in these next few posts is that is that if you think of Santa Monica only as The Santa Monica Pier and the Third Street Promenade you need to give Santa Monica more of a chance.
